The Rise and Fall of Trust is all about the moments that make or break trust—especially in high-stakes situations. We bring on guests who’ve seen trust tested firsthand, whether through bold decisions, shocking betrayals, or hard-earned lessons. If you’ve got a story about trust being built, broken, or put to the test, this is the place to share it. Your experience could help others avoid pitfalls, make smarter moves, and see trust in a whole new way.

Cashflow Podcasting is a production company out to share the good news that podcasts are amazing for building trust at scale.
Our clients are repeatedly surprised to discover that prospects are willing to transact large sums quickly because of all the trust that’s been built with them listening over months and years. This truth is known to business podcasters–but not outsiders.
So, we’re getting the word out the best way know how: with a podcast!
Our team is building an audience around this show and including a short promo for Cashflow Podcasting’s services in the intro and outro. And if a subset of our guests are intrigued to have a follow-up conversation about podcasting, that’s a nice bonus!

The show’s five phases are below, with sample questions:
Introduction (~1 minute). e.g. “Who are you and what do you do?”
Story of rising trust (~10 minutes) e.g. “Tell us a story of someone who gained your trust? What did they do? What did they not do? What made this special for you?”
Story of falling trust (~10 minutes) e.g. “Tell us a story of someone who lost your trust? How did they start out great? What happened? When was the moment you said, ‘enough is enough’? What thoughts and feelings were you experiencing when the shoe dropped?
Personal takeaways and values (~4 minutes) e.g. “How have these experiences shaped your thinking? Where do your personal standards for integrity exceed common practice? How do you safeguard your clients’ trust? What are your personal trustbuilding do’s and don’ts?”
Plug for your business (~1 minute) e.g. “If the listener is thinking, ‘this person seems trustworthy’ I’d like to learn what should they do?”
For the rising trust story, you provide a shoutout to an amazing professional who absolutely overdelivered, exceeding your expectations and building tremendous trust in the process. Or someone who dramatically came through when you put their trust in them. (Afterwards we’ll have some fun tagging them on LinkedIn and sharing the good vibes of a fun surprise.
For the falling trust story, you share a dastardly tale of broken promises, disappointment, or shoddy workmanship. Feel free to anonymize the name of the guilty to your favorite villain (e.g. “Darth”, “Voldemort”, “Lex”) if that feels more comfortable.

Nope! Just…
A computer;
A reliable internet connection;
Google Chrome (we’re using Riverside.fm for the recording); and
A quiet room.
If you have a microphone or headset for your computer, that would be great. (Best low-price mic kit is the Maono HD300T). If not, a smartphone audio backup + what we record from your computer totally works. Our talented audio engineers will work their magic to make you sound solid.

A great story is not so much remarkable as it is relatable. Ideally listeners will relate to your story, see themselves in it, and connect.
A good story is simply a logically unfolding narrative sequence of events with emotional stakes.
Bring your whole, fun personality into the conversation as though you were speaking with a good friend. Hopefully we’ll be laughing, emoting, and vibing along the way.

Fantastic! That means you care, and there are real stakes.
For our part, we promise to be kind and edit things to make you look as good as possible. The interview is not live, so we can re-do any portion multiple times if need be.
In post, we will freely edit out any flubs, ummm/ahhh/like/ya-knows, lengthy pauses, misspoken words, false starts, lackluster tangents, etc.
